2050 arrives in StaffordThe year 2050 arrived in Stafford this week when ‘The Johnsons’ winner
picked up his prize.
The Johnsons alternate reality game ran on the OC3 climate change website until Christmas with players trying to guess the year the story was set in.
The correct answer was 2050 and the prize was won by Mark Hutchinson of Eccleshall.
He received an eco digital radio on Friday 5th February at County Buildings in Martin Street, Stafford.
Mark, aged 45 who lives with his wife Diane and two daughters, is aware of the likely consequences of climate change in his role as a risk engineering consultant. He encouraged everyone in Staffordshire to make a sustained effort to reduce global warming.
“The Johnsons project run by Staffordshire County Council was a great initiative and a unique way to raise awareness and focus the mind”. he said.
Staffordshire County Councillor Mike Maryon, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environment, said the project had been a great success.
“The Johnsons game was a real first for us, and it has really brought the climate change message to new audiences. I’m delighted that Mark worked out the year and has won the prize.”
The Johnsons can still be found at www.staffsoc3.org.uk , although the competition has now closed.
